These standards should be incorporated into the teaching of the TEKS when possible so that students can attain a greater understanding of complex content. The process standards are integrated at every grade level and course. When embedded meaningfully in the classroom, these process standards can provide a rich learning environment to help students make sense of mathematics in the real world. As such, Big Ideas Learning has created a professional development to help Texas educators incorporate these process standards into everyday instruction. Session Description: Participants will learn how to meaningfully incorporate the Mathematical Process Standards (MPS) in everyday instruction. Participants will engage with each process standard via fun problem-solving activities to help them understand each standard deeply. Each participant will receive a packet of MPS-specific resources.
